  Semmens Transport

  Forklift Operator: At Semmens Transport my primary role is forklift driving. A typical shift involves opening up all the trucks, (Curtains and gates etc.) unloading all the pallets and freight off the trucks, and placing them in their correct locations in the warehouse based off their locations. This includes in the racks. Then I reload the trucks using consignment sheets. Each truck has a folder containing the sheets. Once a truck is loaded I put the gates on, strap the freight and close the curtains. Other duties include washing trucks, moving trucks around the yard and other general duties.

  Forklift Operator/Labourer: At Neumann Steel, my responsibilities include all aspects of picking orders. The orders comprise of all steel and accessories that typically go into, for example, a house slab. This entails putting down the mesh, and then adding all of the accessories on top. We might put up to four of five of these on top of each other, and then load it onto the relevant truck. In order to do this, I drive the 2.5 ton, 8 ton and 16 ton forklifts. Other duties include unloading trucks, organising the yard and storage sheds and keeping up with the paperwork.

(For example working at the Brisbane and Gold Coast Convention Centres and the RNA Showgrounds) Some of the work involves setting up and packing up the events. (Bump in and bump out) Some of the jobs involve spotting fork lift drivers, taking pallets in and out of the centre via the loading docks, taking down and packing of electrical cords/equipment, following WHS rules and procedures at all times and all jobs as required/requested by my supervisor.

  Event Management and Video Technology Supervisor: This role involves running and supervising a work for the dole project. I have supervised the Events Management Program, the Video Technology Program, and more recently (Contract finished on 01/01/2017) another event management program running from the Southport office which involved organising 'Sun Soakers Fest 2016'. This program involved communicating with my employer and also APN (Job Network Member) to deliver up to date paperwork and app data about all clients. The program itself involved the complete organisation and management of Sun Soakers Fest 2016. This included liaising with council, local police, local businesses, newspapers and radio stations, seeking and obtaining a venue, organising paid stallholders, organising paid and unpaid bands and other live entertainment, promotion of the event including radio, newspaper, and online promotion, and all other aspects of the organisation and management of the event. To attain this goal, my responsabilites included tutoring the jobseekers in multimedia software, namely Adobe Premiere Pro, website building, emailing services, office administration, cold calling, promotion, and all other aspects included in Event Management and the organisation of the festival. Last year my responsibilities included the promotion and organising of the Logan Cardboard Classic, a festival that was held at Kingston and featured the legendary Phil Emmanuel.

  Boning Room Labourer: At Teys, I worked in the boning room and also load out. My duties included packing meat, weighing meat, sorting meat and all other duties in the packing area of the boning room. My duties in load out included stacking boxes, loading trucks, palletising, organising and arranging the load out area to insure a fast and efficient loop from load out to export and trucks.

  Sand Blaster

  Yard Person: In this role I was responsible for all of the sand blasting required by the company. The majority of this material was mining scoops and other mining gear that was made by PBSF. My duties included driving the fork lift, sand blasting, taking care of the yard, helping in the paint shed, maintaining my compressor, the blast pot and all other gear associated with the blast shed and the yard.   Allied Timber Products

  Machine operator: As I worked at ATP for a fair length of time, I undertook training in every part of this timber plant. ATP is a timber mill that gets whole logs and processes them into palings, studs, sleepers and other cuts. Some of the machines (I learnt them all.) that I worked on included board edger, resaw, debarker, trim deck and control room. As one of the few workers that lasted at ATP for this long (It's hard work.) I was one of the main workers given the responsibility of training all of the new workers.
