    McIntyre Transport

Plant Operator/Truck Driver: I was originally only employed by McIntyres for the sugarcane harvest as a seasonal (roll on / roll off rail) truck driver in the Isis / bundaberg region, but having purchased a (quarry / mine) in Biggenden mid season they decided to keep me employed indefinitely. During the next 6 years i would go between both workplaces as required. As a cane truck driver the role was basically using modified skeleton trailers, to winch rope train carriages on and off in between farm sidings and main locomotive pick up sites. The role at the quarry was far more diverse, initially started delivering road base products, pre coat screenings, sands and soils etc using HC tipper combination. As time progressed I was using a range of plant equipment daily including CAT and HYUNDAI front end loaders, KOMATSU 30T excavator, CAT articulated smaller sized dump truck and a BOBCAT feeding crushers / loading trucks and stock piling etc. As well as the machinery operating i played a hands on role of all pre season maintenance, welding repairs and fabrication of equipment.
