  Maintenance Electrician: Our team cover design, engineering, manufacturing as well as transport, logistics and maintenance to offer you Australia's most comprehensive turnkey portable camp solution. My role was to facilitate the construction and maintenance of RO Camp Water Supply, Waste Water Treatment Plant, Emergency Fire Services, Electrical Camp Supply (4x 400KVA Generators), Kitchen, Office buildings and Accomodation. • Complete preventative and reactive maintenance whilst adhering to relevant site procedures in a timely manner. • Maintaining close professional relationships with our clients. • Maintaining the kitchen electrical appliances as well as cool rooms. • Daily checks, data entry and monitoring part stock levels.

  Linkforce Engineering

  Electrician, Permit Officer: Sodexo develops, manages and delivers a diverse range of services, designed to improve the quality of life for our clients and customers. We design, deliver and manage these services, improving the daily running of these businesses, so that our clients can focus fully on their core business. My role working for Sodexo is to Implement and manage isolations for RIO TINTO's Coastal Projects outside of Karratha WA. Due to the large workforce and complexity of works on these sites RIO TINTO have made me a Permit Officer. • Planning, creating, implementing electrical and mechanical isolations from electrical and building drawings. • Creating and implementing documentation and procedures for the isolating and re-energisation of work fronts. • Testing of electrical circuits prior to isolation and re-energisation, making sure work crews have not damaged any cables during their works. • Supervising work crews. • Adhering to all of Sodexo's and RIO TINTO's safe work practices and procedures.

  Ray Brookes Switchboards

  Electrician: Ray Brookes manufactures various sized LV switchboards ranging from 63A panel boards to 1250A 5.5m long Site Main Switchboards. • Preparing the board for installing electrical equipment using basic metal working and hand tool skills, jig sawing, grinding, drilling, tapping, hole punching • Installing various sized LV switchgear, circuit breakers, direct and CT power metering circuits • Designing, measuring, bending and installing copper busbars, from simple tags to customised 1250A systems • Working closely with the electrical engineering team and sheet metal team to change the board layout on the fly, as needed • QA and basic testing of boards prior to dispatch • Aiding the apprentice in learning electrical techniques and furthering their knowledge

  High Energy Services

  Electrical Technician: HES specialises in services associated with HV&LV substations and switchyard equipment. Equipment such as: circuit breakers, switchgear, transformers and protection relays. My role consisted of FIFO work to various mine sites for preventative maintenance and testing for varying lengths of time. Our main Clients were FMG and BHP but we also worked on the construction sites of Wheatstone and Roy Hill. • Testing and inspecting of low/high voltage motors, transformers, switch gear (including timing tests and relay tests), cables and switchboards whilst adhering to WA mine regulations and site-specific permitting systems • Repair mechanical and electrical components of electrical machines, repair basic electronic apparatus faults, troubleshot AC/DC power supplies, locate and rectify faults in control devices/circuits using set procedures • Disconnect/reconnect control devices connected to low voltage and high voltage installation wiring; Comply with scheduled and preventative maintenance program processes; Maintain documentation; Carry out JSA writing

  Lend Lease Power

  Electrical Apprentice/ Trades Assistant: Lend Lease Power made switchboards for the mining industry and supplied to organisations such as RIO TINTO and BHP Billiton. In this role I enjoyed learning the many different ways that one task can be done through the exposure to working with multiple tradesmen on many projects. • Solved problems in single and three phase low voltage machines, arranged circuits, controlled and maintained protection of general electrical installations, solved problems in electromagnetic devices and related circuits, low voltage AC circuits and carried out repairs to electrical apparatus • Repaired mechanical and electrical components of electrical machines, repaired basic electronic apparatus faults, troubleshot DC power supplies, located and rectified faults in low voltage control devices using set procedures • Assemble, mounted and connected control gear and switchgear, constructed switchboards, and enclosures, fabricated, dismantled, assembled utilities industry components, mounted and wired control panel equipment and participated in switchgear and control gear installation • Customising and installing cable ladders and all associated fixings.
