Correctional Centre
Correctional Manager: Supervise the dynamic and static security requirements of the Correctional Centre. Ensure the security and safety of all visitors to the center providing information to those persons as required. Conduct investigations as required. Report all incidents including the correlation, preparation and dissemination of incident reports. Provide primary guidance on situational problems making referrals for more complex problems. Assist in the development and implementation of policy procedures and regulations for custody and treatment of prisoners. Monitor and assess subordinate staff performance and identify training needs for the implementation of training programs in conjunction with the training specialist. Assist with the development and implementation of rosters. Develop and maintain staff leave rosters. Ensure audit functions including equipment inventories and reporting systems are effectively and efficiently monitored and maintained. Assist with the formulation, development and implementation of the short and long term goals of the Operations Department's forward plan. Monitor and demonstrably achieve all Service Delivery Outcomes and contract compliance requirements. Provide unit staff briefings including checking of area logs and registers. Coordinate unit teams in relation to case management. Chair review and assessment committee of designated units. Ensure the compilation of Custodial and Parole reports as required. Review disciplinary matters concerning staff and prisoners in the assigned accommodation units. Chair General Manager's disciplinary hearings as required. Responsible for unit budget allocation. Directly supervise the activities of the unit as a whole on a daily basis in accordance with the Centre's routine and structured day. Liaise with other unit managers in the coordination of procedures which support the provision of prisoner services such as medical, food services, hobbies, preventative maintenance programs, transfers, contingency planning and prisoner movements. Oversee the functions of the perimeter security including the main gate access during operational hours. Oversee the security and maintenance functions associated with the armory and response equipment within the center.
