SUPERINTENDENT: Key responsibilities & achievements: • Reporting to the Site HSS Manager - Hidden Valley Mine. Development of the local National workforce into adopting safer work practices and undertaking personal risk assessments prior to commencing tasks. Improving site lag/lead indicators relating to workplace incidents and injuries - now vastly improved. Targeting employee behaviours to encourage safer work practices. Driving safety improvement initiatives via the Safety and Health teams. Identifying potential emerging risks to the business from site activities and processes. Assuming the role of HSSR Manager in his absence. • Providing leadership and overseeing management of 28 Safety Officers and 9 Safety Coaches. Monitoring of Pre, Periodic and Post employment medical screening of personnel and contractors. Development, training and mentoring of Safety personnel. Development of high risk Critical Controls and Fatigue Management processes. • Reporting site-wide, key safety and statistical information and initiatives. Regulator liaison, auditing and formal reporting in line with PNG Mining Act. Contractor Management of safety practices and issues. SENIOR HSE ADVISOR - OFFSHORE OPERATIONS: Key responsibilities & achievements: • Reporting to the National HSE Manager - Australia, delivering strategic advice and consultative services to support best practice decision making across HSE, compliance and solutions. The key client groups in this role include senior government stakeholders and contractors for site. • A high accountability role, responsible for WHS compliance, policy delivery and implementation of initiatives across the site impacting 2000 personnel (including indigenous Local National staff). • As a pivotal member of the Site Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), executing training and activities across this function. Liaised daily with Field Incident Managers, to ensure shared responsibilities were achieved. • Maintain current knowledge and deliver employee welfare and injury management/rehabilitation services to staff, arranging remote site aeromedical evacuation where required. Introduced best practice management relating to RRTW and reduced incident claims through preventative actions and measures across the site. • Provided full scope, front line, WHS activities, including hazard identification, job safety observations and incident investigations. Advise, implement and monitor corrective actions, collaborating with site partners to ensure gaps are closed in timely manner. • Undertook safety system audit to ensure accuracy of data, compliance and currency, whilst maintaining safety data daily. • Provide leaderships and guidance to a high performing team including the Welfare Officer and Health and Safety Representatives on site. • Rolled out an 'Empowerment' initiative, delivering training and support to Local National employees and local community leaders to foster independence in all operational related activities and develop safety culture.

HSSE & TRAINING SUPERINTENDENT: Key responsibilities & achievements: • Key advisor and liaison across a suite of safety policies, procedures and processes across a groups of 600+ employees and stakeholders. The scope of advice included day to day safety management, injury management, risk management, incident management and training. OPERATIONAL EMERGENCY SERVICES OFFICER/COORDINATOR: Key responsibilities & achievements: • A high accountability role, that required solid strategic and issue resolution skills, as Senor Officer for emergency response, delivering responsive coordination, support and emergency skills for up to 1300 employee across remote site operations including; • Construction and Capital Works Projects • Process Safety Analysis • Underground HV substation construction • Maintenance • Open cut & Underground Mining • Crushing • Wastewater treatment plant and remote bore fields • Contractor Management • Paste plant construction and commissioning • Bulk explosives storage facility • Underground Emergency Egress Construction Project • Bulk fuel installations • Successfully managed the Emergency Response Team, consisting of 6 Emergency Services Officers, 50 Volunteers and 2 Registered Nurses. Leadership support and activities ranged from training and development, welfare management, disciplinary matters and mentorship. • Effectively developed solid relationships with key industry partners, supporting the achievement of operational objectives. Through collaboration with these partners, improved the planning and operational outcomes of emergency management, and helped deliver best practice safety initiatives overall. • 'Go to' advisor for customer group of operational mining personnel, promoting a safety culture of ownership and pro-active change of safety behaviours to improve workplace culture. • Implemented several practical activities such as, daily toolbox talks, safety walks, safety employer forum and a safety dashboard, to create a visible 'Zero Harm' culture that actively promoted mission, vision, values and the principles of Oz Minerals. • Introduced a monthly OHS and Quality audit across specific areas of safety and quality, ensuring a pro-active focus was taken to enforcing, monitoring and rectifying OH&S policy and procedures in line with the safety and assurance guidelines. Prior to this, employed in several safety interfacing and training roles. Developed an extensive knowledge across OHS, emergency response and also, effective training, coaching and facilitation skills to promote safety at all levels.
