Key responsibilities involved completing technical checks for possible detections of fruit fly on citrus and stone fruit. Working in teams within zones outlined, applying bait to trees, and going door to door to complete hygiene tasks. Key responsibilities - Performed daily vehicle inspections. - Liaising with the general public, building a rapport to eliminate fruit fly. - Walking door to door, entering people's properties to apply bait to trees and hedges. - Completely technical checks on citrus and stone fruit to make sure there are no signs of fruit fly. - Working with teams to do hygiene in areas classed as a red centre, this involves picking up fallen fruit.

AJC Cable Hauling
Fibre Optic Technician (Cable Jointer): Having originally been hired as a level one cable jointer, my consistently good work and on time completion was noticed by my supervisors. When AJC Cable Hauling was expanding, I was selected to be upskilled to become a fibre optic technician. I was required to travel to multiple work sites in a day to complete various tasks. This included building and splicing fibre enclosures, testing fibres back to the exchange with an OTDR machine and fault rectification. Key responsibilities - Reading & Understanding Fibre designs and Construction plans - Maintaining work vehicle cleanliness and stock to project a positive professional image - Hauling telecommunication cable on the street side either hand pull or using cable winches - Preparation of optical fibre cable in fibre enclosures for terminations, both loose and ribbon cables - Hauling fibre into Telstra exchange racking units to then prepare, splice and test fibres on the DFN - OTDR DFN/LFN testing on the NBN network with fault finding and fault rectification on a live network
