ACFS-Labourpower recruitment
Driver: Working primarily at the Port of Brisbane for ACFS and Chalmers Industries doing both palletised and container work. Am looking for further casual work. I have a diverse range of skills and the ability to dynamically adapt to any role I am placed in. I require minimum supervision and quick to pick up tasks. My analytic skills help me communicate better work practices and provide feedback on OHS issues.

Container Swinglift Services
Road Train Driver: Container Swinglift Services primary line of business is in shipping containers. I have been working at Container Swinglift since November 2013 as a road train driver at the Port of Brisbane and surrounding areas. Toowoomba, Dalby and Pittsworth under PBS to 90t in the road train and on occasions filled in as a side-loader operator. Use of large container forklift to load and unload containers as well small forklifts to move palletised freight and move empty containers. Current up to date and new equipment being the Volvo range, 450, 500, 540 and 600 hp series. I am one of the few drivers in the fleet that does not require a “dolly-lock” to reverse the road train set into the port loading areas. Educate and training of other company drivers in driving and reversing road train configurations. I am well known and respected at the Port with an excellent driving record with no accident damage.

Seaspray Haulage QLD
DRIVER: Was employed as a full time night shift driver. I worked mainly night shift, but have also worked a number of day shifts as required. I work mainly night shift, but have also worked a number of day shifts as required. POTA have a large fleet of trucks mainly Kenworth SAR’s, Western Stars, Scania’s, a few Macks and some odd UD and DAF trucks. I have driven nearly every vehicle in the fleet, from single combinations, B-Doubles, Swinglifters and the port approved 30m Super B-Doubles rated at 109 ton. Tasks include delivery of full containers and collection of empty containers to and from customer sites around Brisbane and the port itself.

Australian Recruitment Group /Chalmers
Driver: Whilst working at Qube (P&O Transport) i did agency work for Australian recruitment services for Patricks and Chalmers on a casual basis, followed the work when it was available... Australian Recruiting specialises in labour hire to Patricks Port Services and Chalmers. I have full induction to Patricks. Chalmers have no induction process. I have driven most of the fleet at Patricks and Chalmers, in most configurations, mainly on night shift with some day shift as required. Chalmers has been primarily in the empty park driving “30m Port Approved Super-B Doubles” around the island, whilst as required delivering full containers and collecting empty containers to their customer base off the island. Due to the GFC, there has been a downturn in imports and exports within Australia and most of the container parks are not offering full time employment at this point in time. I prefer long term stability and security in the future with my employer.

B & P TRANSPORTERS
MC Driver: Driving an extended chassis International Eagle 9900 with a 550hp CAT C-15, 18 speed manual road-ranger in two B-Double combinations. The 2 trailer combinations are as follow:- 1) Custom built side tipping fruit trailers, for the collection and deliver of fruit from Griffith and surrounding areas to Grove Fruit in Mansfield, Brisbane once a week, sometimes twice a week dependent on company needs, and 2) Taut-liner trailers as a B-Double configuration to do an additional trip to Sydney a week. Due to the owner Beau Battle rolling the fruit trailers over in March last month, my position has been compromised and the workload has changed and increased. I do general freight atm as a 26 m B-Double mainly doing Brisbane to Sydney as many times a week as possible. There is only limited earning opportunities doing this work and I do not wish to be an over-niter again. Due to their situation, insurance claims and instability, I am looking for more rewarding work. I am not looking for Bris-Syd-Bris work, and would prefer to go back to Bris-Melb-Bris or Bris-Adel-Melb-Bris as I find this far more suitable to my lifestyle.

LEWIS NQ Bulk Haulage
Driver: Moved up from Brisbane and commenced work on the 10th of August 2009. Driving single and B-Double combinations. Started driving B-Double combinations to Mt Isa carting sulpher to Incitec Pivot, then fertilizer returning to the port. Three weeks after starting, the company had lost the contract to cart these materials and I have been left driving local tippers on roadwork’s doing paving work and carting road base materials up to pads up to Christmas creek. Not what I moved here to do, hence why I am looked for more satisfying and rewarding work. I did go there with the intention of earning a better living, but as this turned out not to be the case, I have returned to Brisbane.
