Followmont Transport Brisbane
Driver trainer and assessor: I'm the sole driver trainer and assessor for Followmont Transport. My role here is to provide current industry standard training for company employed operators and new drivers as part of the recruitment process. I'm delivering fatigue management, load restraint and annual driver evaluations. I'm operating in a range of different vehicles from local delivery vans to line haul B-Doubles with many different transmissions and gearboxes.

DECA - Driver Education Training Centre
Heavy vehicle driver trainer: Teaching the military how to drive and operate heavy vehicles. Instruction being delivered was vehicle specific. I taught the students all facets of driving from state road law to fault finding and vehicle components. The course I delivered was extremely detailed and covered far more than a normal licence assessment. Not only was the student capable of driving a heavy vehicle on the road the were highly skilled off road in extreme conditions with the knowledge how to recover their vehicle and repair if needed.

Heavy Combination Driver: Driving a Kenworth T950 tipper and quad axle trailer, loading and unloading various types of crushed rock and sand to the construction industry around Victoria. Carrying out basic maintenance on the truck and trailer, completion of all relevant paperwork, collection of payments and dealing with customers and their requests.

Heavy vehicle licence trainer/assessor.: Training and testing clients in all variants of heavy vehicles ranging from light rigid to heavy combination with synchromesh and non synchromesh gearboxes. Negotiating traffic around the Kilsyth and Dandenong area. Demonstrating to the clients with presentations in a classroom environment how to operate all vehicles via PowerPoint and the use of a whiteboard involving client interaction. As well as an on road demonstration showing them first hand how to drive.

I was put on when the company was going into receivership which meant I was only there to take the heated customers phone calls. In my time there I generated many sales which not all were completed due to the company not having the funds to buy the materials.

Previous Employment: Driving a Mack Superliner B-Double carrying 3 cars for the V8 supercars. This set up was an interactive display unit for BP Ultimate where I'd drive to each race all over the country demonstrating the benefits of using BP Ultimate compared to regular fuel by using dynos with the GT Falcons I carried in the truck.
