MC/HC Truck Driver: Employed to drive B-Double carrying beer between CUB Brewery in Yatala to Toll/CUB distribution shed in Heathwood, and direct customer deliveries in Brisbane Metro area. BCTM are sub-contractors to Toll Contract Logistics. During quieter periods, sent to ATT Logistics to do pick up/delivery work in Brisbane Metro area. Involved single and B-Double work, mainly Woolworths grocery, along with some day trips to Warwick and Toowoomba.

Class MC Interstate driver: Rodney's Transport Service (Wagga Wagga, NSW, Australia) Oct 2012 - September 2013 Class MC Interstate driver In October I decided to move to Australia to drive Interstate trucks. I travelled from/to Wagga, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, and many places in between. All of the work I do is B-Double general freight with 18 speed road ranger Kenworth prime movers. My wife moved to Australia in July and we decided to settle in Brisbane permanently.

Temporary Assignments
Class 5 driver: Temporary Assignments May 2012 - September 2012 Class 5 driver - Auckland Temp assignments carried out at Cardinal Freight for 4 weeks, then Turners Transport for 3 months. This involved a mix of night time metro work and some line haul runs to Taupo and Waiouru. During this time I have driven a large variety of truck/trailer combinations, including truck and trailer, B-train, triple & quad axle semi, both general freight, and fresh fruit and produce. Tractor units driven include Western Star, Freightliner Argosy, Scania, Volvo, International & Mack, with a mix of both auto and 18 speed road ranger gearboxes.

Driving: Bullet Freight Systems Ltd June 2010 - February 2012 Full time position taken up with Bullet Freight to drive a Class 4 Metro truck. Position involves deliveries and pick up of general freight in the Auckland Metropolitan area. In August 2011 I gained my full Class 5 driver license and have been driving a mixture of HPMV Iveco truck & trailer, either 500 or 580HP V8 Scania tractor with either 3 axle semi-trailer or B-train. Mainly involved with Metro work, however also do relief line haul when staff are on leave or sick.

On the 1 June I was promoted to the position of Corporal. All of my work involves commercial/industrial property protection, although I have been posted in East Auckland a couple of times primarily patrolling schools. As a Security Officer I have learned to deal with a vast cross section of the greater Auckland community. On a daily basis I talk to people from all ethnic backgrounds, from all socio-economic groups. From vagrants to the wealthy to the very drunk, I have managed to come up with ways to assist people and think very quickly on my feet, most times with successful solutions. REASON FOR LEAVING: The hours have increased and permanent night shift is having an impact on my relationship and family.
