Operations manager/Driver Trainer: I started out with Ronski as a HR truck driver and slowly worked my way up through the ranks to HC driver, then into head driver/driver trainer, then into operations manager. My duties as a HR then HC driver was first and foremost the safe operation of a multitude of different vehicles in both HR and HC combinations. Including daily safety checks and basic mechanical repairs. The safe and efficient pick-up and delivery of freight. Including a variety of general freight in all shapes and sizes. The meticulous cartage of import/export freight. As well as some oversize loads. Route planning with 10-20 stops a day in the greater south east Queensland region. When I moved into the role of head driver/driver trainer, I continued all of the above responsibilities, but was also in charge of liaising with our fleet of drivers to ensure they could carry out their daily tasks safely and efficiently. Also assessing/inducting/training new employees in the correct processes of our business including all of the above. This was the case with every new employee, in a fast paced, high turnover environment. This role also included liaising with contracting clients and allocators to ensure our fleet was performing adequately, and if not addressing these issues with staff and doing our best to address issues to improve performance. Then I moved into the role of Operations Manager, which also included the part time management of a sister business (diesel mechanical workshop) which ran in conjunction with Ronski Transport as well as autonomously. This roll including all facets of running the business (bar payroll). Including all of the aforementioned responsibilities. Responsible for the hiring of new staff including advertising, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting successful applicants. In charge of the organisation of fleet maintenance, including liaising with workshop staff and ordering of all parts and outsourced labour. In my role of Office Manager for the workshop I was responsible for the efficient organisation of workshop staff and daily duties. Having a sound knowledge of basic mechanical terminology to carry out the ordering of all parts and consumables. Service customers needs via phone/email and to keep bookings in order to ensure efficient use of workshop time/customer satisfaction. The use of online accounting software to make and send invoices as well as record all incoming bills and ensure the prompt and on time payment to all suppliers. Imperative in maintaining positive relationships with all staff members, contracting clients, customers and management in all facets of both businesses.

Driving - Waste Collection : Duties Complete organization of the truck and team for the full days work, which included; attending a morning meeting to receive assigned collection area, completing vehicle inspection sheet and ensuring the safe use of the vehicle and equipment. Daily route design and logistic organisation based on required collection streets/suburbs and to meet targets. Driving the truck and assisting with loading the truck and compacting waste as required. Collating of daily data including house numbers, streets, suburbs and weights of waste collected which was reported to the foreman. Also providing accurate mapping of areas that had been completed. Responsible for fuel consumption and reporting any vehicle problems to the mechanic. Achievements Driving all different makes of truck including International, Volvo, Freightliner and Hino. Successful team management and leadership of all labourers in the crew. Motivating them to achieve the days targets and working safely around the truck and with all equipment and heavy lifting tasks. Working closely with city council waste station staff to ensure to the team were working in designated zones and to maintain safety at all times.

Stores/Warehouse/Driver - Night Shift : Duties Organisation of the fleet for the following days deliveries, usually 20-25 trucks per night Working efficiently and effectively within a strict loading sequence, both as an individual and within a team, this includes ensuring all vehicles are in the correct locations via strategic communications within the team, load sizes match varying truck sizes and that pallets are loaded in the specific sequence. General fleet maintenance, such as fueling, oil and fluid maintenance, cleaning, battery checks and re-starts and tyre pressure. Reporting any damage or other maintenance required. Achievements Fulfilled all OH&S and other safety training requirements and adhere to these regulations through every shift. General Housekeeping duties to ensure a safe and clean work environment. Competent and efficient operation of trucks and other equipment such as tight parking and backing into loading docks, as well as other practiced maneuverability in the truck yard, operation of dock leveling device, pallet wrappers, electric pallet jacks and plastic crushing machine.
