  Workshop Foreman: September 2006 - February 2012 Vigor Engineering, Sandgate Qld Workshop Foreman * Successfully run a busy engine shop whilst supervising a team * Disassemble full long diesel and petrol engines for automotive, truck, bus, earthmoving, marine, industrial and other machinery * Investigate, diagnose and resolve reasons for engine failure and fatigue to deliver quality work in a time efficient manner * Non destructive testing eg crack testing and pressure testing * Grind surface and cut the recesses to reclaim the liner height * Rebore cylinders or convert parent bore to sleeves * Repair and recondition cylinder heads * Regrind cranks, cams and con-rods * Balance crank shaft, con-rods, pistons, flywheels and other necessary components * Assemble engines to the customers requirements, which may include short assemblies, full long assemblies e.g bearing clearance checking, piston height, dialling in of injector, pumps, dialling in of camshafts, turbo fit ups and accessory fitting * Carry out removing and fitting of engines * Responsible for ordering and maintaining parts and equipment * Handle maintenance and repairs on machines * In depth knowledge of petrol and diesel engines, tooling and equipment * Handle warranty issues, and if required prepare reports for shop and part companies * Handling incoming calls, in person enquiries and provide accurate quoting on various jobs including both in the workshop and on site * Work efficiently and effectively as a valuable team member and team leader * Follow risk management protocols * Exceptional project management * Client focused * Maintain a positive team culture in a safe and happy environment * Financial responsibilities * Train staff to achieve their qualification
