NSW Metro Transport Manager: Visy Logistics Jul 2010 - July 2015 NSW Metro Transport Manager Responsibilities / Achievements: * First point of contact to manage VL fleet within our Visyboard business. * Tasked to also oversee Kings Park, PACT and Visy Paper fleet. * Monitor loading/unloading times to ensure quick turnarounds and increased revenue. * Complete payroll for all drivers on a daily basis. * Ability to work closely with other VL NSW operations staff to provide best service and coverage for our customers. * Carry out driver inductions and training. * Conduct conflict resolution and execute disciplinary action when required. * Ensure all employees adhere to OH&S regulations and company practices. * Costing of loads to customers using TMS. * Weekly toolbox talks and daily safety conversations * Manage labour hire levels to balance overuse vs. potential service issues * Daily liaison with customers to ensure all loads are delivered in full on time. * Organize ongoing vehicle repairs and maintenance. * Constantly search for ways to improve current practices/operations to ensure cost effectiveness. * Monitoring of load plans to ensure optimum fleet utilisation. * Manage R&M of fleet to stay within agreed budget. * Sound knowledge of TMS and SAP. * Secure and establish storage for Visy Beverage within our Glendenning warehouse. * Provide weekly figures for P&L reporting for NSW cost centres. * Manage P&L for two of the major cost centers for the NSW business. * Constant involvement with 3PL service providers. * Always searching for a better, more cost effective way to get the job done. * Manage the daily operations of five paper warehouses between NSW and VIC. * Plan all local and linehaul loads out of these five warehouses. * Carry out monthly stock takes for the Visy Paper warehouse in Smithfield. * Plan and allocate export paper orders for Visy Paper Smithfield.
