Peabody Australia
Senior Mining Engineer: Peabody Australia Senior Mining Engineer October 2013 - June 2015 Led a team of professionals in undertaking feasibility studies, life-of-mine planning, special projects and the implementation of underground operations. Encompassed managing a $660k innovation project budget and a $13m project implementation budget. Key contributions included: • Initiating and implementing new technologies and processes, including RoadSim software, development processes, gas drainage technology and geotechnical technologies which enabled achievable development rates to be accurately predicted and led to a 26% increase in development overall production rates. • Leading the continuous improvement, re-positioning and ongoing development of the Centre-of-Excellence for the company's underground sites. This led to a 26% improvement in the development monthly advance for the company's Australian operations, compared with an initial estimate of 15%. • Delivering savings of up to 60% by devising a gas drainage innovation culminating in an international patent application and the rights to the intellectual property signed over to Peabody Energy. • Overseeing the design of all mine infrastructure, including water supply, buildings, flood systems, conveyors, plant equipment, site access, support, ventilation systems, air transport, roads, tunnels, electricity, security, people and equipment to ensure 90% accurate cost estimates on start-up projects. • Creating and developing robust, defendable and achievable Life-of-Mine planning projects. • Subject matter expert for the due-diligence of potential asset acquisitions. • Continuously improving the operations of all sites. • Conducted RoadSim simulation modelling and adapted the software to meet company needs to predict underground development with an accuracy to 98%.

Tritton Copper Mines
Senior Mine Planning Engineer: Tritton Copper Mines Senior Mine Planning Engineer October - December 2008 Led a team of five mine engineering and survey specialists and managed a budget of $60,000. Contributions included: • Developing long term underground and surface infrastructure designs for two new and one existing mine sites including, long term stope, life of mine development and life of mine stope designs • Formulating scenario plans which led to changes in the design of the ore extraction system which eliminated a significant safety risk and reduced the duration per ore pass mined from 10 to 7 days. • Optimised open stope and development designs which led to an estimated 30% cost saving. • Maximised reserve extraction by changing the design and maximising the open-stope design.
