Truck Driver: My current role is driving a twin steer hook truck for a metal recycling company. Operating throughout Melbourne CBD and some rural locations. Dealing with customers on a very regular basis. Some customers require special considerations and its my duty to meet the needs of the customer as best I can to ensure a well maintained reputation for the company.

Murphys
Truck Driver: Working as a driver for Murphys I was responsible for the safe and timely delivery of building materials to sites across my home town of Derbyshire. Taking stock of items to be delivered and loading safely on to the truck was all part of the daily routine and it was up to me to be as efficient as possible to make sure all deliveries were completed on time. Often I would ask for the next days orders to load for the next day so I could be first out the yard and get a jump on the day.

Front Line Manager: My main duties included, setting to work the tradesmen on compartments for pipefitting and general outfit. Process planning was particularly important in this case because not only was I responsible for making sure my team were being as productive as possible but also having to liaise with other contractors to make sure they could complete their work on time and in an efficient manner to fit in with my overall compartment completion targets. Man management was key to achieving the required results. Responsibilities included, working to a schedule of works and meeting deadlines, having to coordinate with other trades and customers to ensure each stage of compartment fitout was completed on time and to the extremely high standards that were expected. Meeting with the Lloyds register for quality control was a regular occurrence and building a rapport was extremely important, in addition it was important that I kept quality within my team to an extremely high standard so that when I invited the Lloyds register to inspect the work for sign off, there were minimal defects and thus saving time and money for the companies budget. Liaising with Rolls Royce for installation of the 160 ton rear gas turbine to ensure quality and performance were met was another of my responsibilities and an example of my ability to perform my job well and to a high standard having been trusted to take on such a huge responsibility. After just a few weeks in the role of front line manager I was given the scope to implement changes, as I saw fit, to the process of works by altering orders in which the compartments were completed thus saving the company money and not arriving at a bottle neck and slowing the job down and potentially missing CCI dates.
