Concrete Plant and Yard staff: August 2012 - January 2018 At Burdett's I report to the Managing Director and am responsible for Quarry, Transport, Retail, Concrete Plant and Yard staff (a workforce of 140). I meet objectives outlined for each of these five departments in required timeframes and with high standards. Comprehensive knowledge of each of the five departments has helped me make decisions and manage a variety of people in various roles. Job responsibilities: Support to the Managing Director; • Assist in the day to day business operations. • Conduct monthly meetings with Managers (including Toolbox) for all departments. • Check KPI's monthly and ensure Department Managers meet their KPI's. • Authorise expenditure for repairs and maintenance. Working with staff; • Ensure all Managers comply with the relevant processes and procedures under their control. • Employ staff, including advertising, interviewing, reference checks, updated position descriptions, employment contracts and employee management system updates. • Motivate, discipline and co-ordinate work groups. • Check and authorise weekly timesheets for payroll. • Monitor staff productivity. • Daily contact with each Manager and assist when required. • Counsel, coach and train Managers. • Determine incentives. • Terminate staff when required. • Ensure staff reviews are carried out. • Recommend bonuses to the Managing Director. • Effective communication Compliance Work • Ensure all modules of NHVAS accreditation are compliant, including Fatigue, Maintenance and Mass Management. • Ensure PBS permits are regularly checked and updated. • Familiarity with workplace harassment laws and work cover requirements. • Monitor and implement change to the OH&S policy when necessary. • Ongoing implementation of company rules and regulations.

Director: I grew this business to four trucks and employed drivers for each which allowed me to build relationships with clients and ensured all trucks were producing maximum levels of income. The majority of the work included cartage of quarry, landscape and building materials. Sales were an important role to grow the business. I developed a range of co-ordination and allocating skills which I became proficient at. I managed the payroll, bookwork, scheduling, all aspects of truck maintenance and ensured all compliance areas were carried out in accordance to regulations.
