General Manager Transport Division: Company Description: Heavy Haulage, Mining, Oil & Gas Location: Muscat, Sultanate of Oman Achievements: Implemented Fuel consumption monitoring, data investigation technics and anti-fuel devices, over a 6-month period we reduced monthly fuel expense up to 35% per month with - In the Middle East, employees find it appealing to steal fuel due to low income, fuel can be untraceable and easily traded for cash, fuel is easy to mask thievery in the absence of effective control systems. Decreased monthly expenditure on third party transport companies by 50% in the first month. With the aid of resources e.g. IVMS, HR and re-educating Sales people we established a functioning strategy. Allocated across 8 different camps in Oman, was 350 prime movers, winch trucks, oilfield bed trucks, tippers, medium rigid and 30 cranes consisting of 25, 55, 75 and 90-ton cranes, 200 flat bed, low bed and winch trailers. Following strong negotiations, we were awarded a 5-year renewal contract from Oxy (Occidental Petroleum Corporation) with a rate increase for the next 5 years, revenue from this company accounts for 60% of the monthly budget 638,000 OMR (1,800,000 US) Rig move operations is a critical task, it is a complex process involving numerous synchronized and instantaneous activities. This level of activity if not managed could create WH&S problems. Preplanning, direction and abundant supervision of all personnel involved is essential to carry out a safe and efficient rig moving operation.
