Finemores Transport and Distribution
Linehaul Driver: I started in the Davids V.G.D. contract delivering groceries throughout Melbourne Metro Area I stayed in this contract for about three months then because of my experience at Kwikasair was asked to help set up the local linehaul division so they could utilize their own fleet instead of using outside contactors to do local bulk pick ups. With the successful implementation of Local Linehaul up and running I was offered a roll as a Linehaul Driver doing Tarcutta change overs until the closure of the express division 1993. The Vehicle transport division snapped me up to do the Vic country runs and express interstate car deliveries. In early 1994 I was approached by the Distribution Manager to take control of the Australia Post contract which involved the time scheduling and loading and unloading of all Sydney and Perth bound trucks, I found this job challenging but very rewarding knowing that through all the kaos nothing got left behind and everything was on time.

Reddie Haulage Services
HC Driver: This company was contracted to Humes Concrete Pipes in Laverton. My duties included the loading and unloading of concrete pipes on site throughout Victoria and Interstate as well as servicing and maintaining a fleet of seven trucks and trailers. Unfortunately the contract with Humes was put to tender and Reddie Haulage was unsuccessful and the company that won the tender did not keep the Reddie drivers on.

Kwikasair Express
Driver: I commenced work at Kwikasair Express the work was very interesting and physically demanding. I began driving a three tonne van doing multiple deliveries and pick ups after a while I was given a twelve tonne Taut Liner which done bulk deliveries and pick ups. Once again my attitude to go hard or go home was rewarded and I was given the opportunity to join the Linehaul team doing local pick ups and deliveries in a articulated vehicles and loading the trucks for the Linehaul drivers. At this point I could see to progress any further within the company as a driver somebody would have to die for a vacancy to come up in Linehaul and I had about five people ahead of me so I decided to leave which was not an easy decision to make.
