An opportunity for an experienced heavy haulage operator to use their skills with a range of high quality specialist equipment
A solid, well-established & diverse transport business is seeking the best heavy haulage driver in the Brisbane area. To meet that standard, your proven skills will cover extendables, floats, widening drop-decks & quad floats through to multi-line platform trailers. You will have a record of safety & professionalism, taking care & responsibility in ensuring the loads you shift are moved without incident & in accordance with customer requirements & compliance demands.
You'll know how to set up multi-line trailers, you'll know how to operate them well & you'll know what to look for in ensuring everything runs smoothly. You'll also be able to use a wide variety of other equipment, & to think in ways that quickly identify important things that can go right & wrong on each job. In other words, you'll be a top-line operator & you'll be proud of the skills you possess & the work you do.
In the current climate, you'll also be quite happy to drive other vehicles in the fleet on standard jobs as required on days when there isn't a heavy or oversized load for you to carry. You'll use the same skills when you do, showing that you are a leading professional driver in all respects & every condition. Clearly, beginners need not apply.
To be successful, you will need to have:
- A solid record of doing high quality heavy haulage work that is representative of the skill-set we are looking for.
- An eye for detail & safety – you do not take shortcuts or make assumptions.
- A sound understanding of rules & regulations that affect how heavy & oversized loads are loaded & transported.
- An absolute focus on customer relationships and satisfaction
- The energy & enthusiasm to be a significant part of solving problems & creating safe, efficient solutions.
- A want to take ownership of jobs and be responsible for your own work
- The want to work with & get on with workmates, supervisors & sub-contractors as a part of a team.
As you can see, this is not a role for the inexperienced or unskilled. It's also not a job for prima-donnas – heavy haulage is a team effort. You'll also need to be away from home for perhaps 7 – 10 nights a month, depending on the jobs that need to get done.
