Stockmaster/Cavanagh Transport October – June 2019
Duties performed: transporting livestock (Sheep, Cattle, Pigs) to and from Sale yards, properties, and abattoirs. Working under Advance Fatigue Management, General maintenance of the truck, DVR, B Double loading, and the odd Road train work when required, general paperwork. Carting refrigerated containers to Sydney Port or Brisbane Port from Careys Depot (Tamworth), General QH&S, speaking to customers in a professional manner.

Duties performed: transporting livestock (Cattle, pigs, sheep, horses, goats) to and from sale yards, properties, and abattoirs. Basic maintenance of the truck, speaking to customers in a professional manner. General WH&S, handling paperwork, Basic Fatigue Management.
Worked As Crane Truck Driver at HEA from October 2010 to August 2013
assigned to the Launch Gantry crew and has now moved onto providing the same services for the F3 Interchange section of the works. His work services many areas of the Project. He is called upon often to undertake wide-ranging assignments whether it is to go to Johns River to protect a mobile worksite with a truck towing a crash attenuator, spending his weekends providing crane truck services on the Cameron Park Drive shutdown weekends or simply urgent runs to Sydney to pick urgent resources. Shaun has gained a reputation of trust and reliability in his work while keeping his eye keenly on health and safety provisions, for example safety system documentation requirements, work site protection and fatigue self – management.
In addition to the above, Shaun has demonstrated on many occasions while at HEA his willingness to step up and help where he can, for example, cleaning out the structural concrete mixer split drum, setting up the lifting gear, hazardous chemicals and safety harness registers for the launch gantry, and working as a dogman for other areas when called upon.
He has also proved his versatility in that he is qualified and capable to operate safely numerous items of plant or equipment while he has been on this project. In addition to the above he has operated Manitou and Merlo non-slewing mobile cranes, segment handling winch units on the launch gantry, overhead travelling cranes in the precast yard, rollers, and dozers during Cert III Training and has now achieved his statement of attainment for loader operation and WorkCover High Risk License for forklift operation.
Shaun is keen to have the skills for the next job and he is undertaking between jobs the Yellow card and elevating work platform > 11m WorkCover License at the the Hunter Plant Operator Training School in September 2013.
At all times Shaun has learnt to put safety as a priority and if in doubt he assures himself by checking with the Supervisor and ensuring compliance with Company and Project procedures and JSEAs before proceeding. He considers this cautious attitude is one of his strengths.

Shaun worked at C2HC primarily on the concrete paving crew controlling the concrete supply to the G & Z mainline pavers. He can claim that he was responsible for efficiently and safely controlling the arrival, discharge and departure of the majority of trucks delivering the concrete that was used to construct the Project.
He exhibited dedication and control of the operation ensuring supply at the right time and position for the paver without any conflict issues. The efficiency and safety of this operation was solely reliant on Shaun’s ability to manage the operation.
Coupled with this operation was the need to collect and manage the delivery dockets and enter any specific information required in logbooks. This information proved to be invaluable in improving efficiency and safety on this operation. Other duties included setting string lines, setting paver and placer, and general labouring.
