The JBS Beef City Feedlot is part of the integrated Beef City facility consisting of farming, feedlot and processing operations. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress, carbon emissions and transportation costs while simultaneously improving eating quality. Ideally located in the prime grain and cattle producing region of the Darling Downs, 35km west of Toowoomba, the 26,500 head capacity feedlot has a strong reputation for producing high quality grain fed beef for key domestic and international customers, and employs approximately 50 team members.
About the Role The JBS Beef City Feedlot team is currently recruiting a motivated Feed Hand to assist with the day to day operations of the Milling and Feeding team. Reporting to the Mill Supervisor, your key responsibilities will include: Undertaking pre-start inspections of all machinery prior to operation Reporting mechanical faults to the supervisor Operating loaders to clean pens, load trucks and associated tasks of a feedlot environment Operating feed trucks to roll out feeding schedules General labouring duties Promoting and maintaining a safe work environment to prevent injuries and lost time
Additional tasks as directed by the Mill Foreperson/Supervisor and/or Feedlot Manager
About You Experience with operating trucks, front end loaders, bobcats, tractors and associated equipment advantageous HR Licence and machinery tickets advantageous but not essential Ability to work machinery in tight working environments Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team Good work ethic Ability to take and follow instruction Why work for JBS?
