Toll NQX is a division of the Toll Australia Group and a leading supplier of long-distance transport services operating throughout Australia. NQX owns and operates one of the largest and most modern fleets in the country with a broad customer base with a high exposure to the mining and resources sector. Due to a new opening in our Adelaide Branch, we are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced drivers.
We can offer benefits such as up to 30% above award wages and 12.5% employer superannuation contributions.
Reporting to the Manager – Straightline & Project Services in Adelaide, the successful applicants will be required to:
- Operate B Double combinations from Adelaide to a variety of locations in Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales;
- Load and secure a wide variety of freight;
- Perform basic maintenance tasks en route, be largely self-sufficient in case of minor breakdown requirements;
- Manage basic administrative tasks to ensure paperwork is complete and accurate.
These positions will operate under a “one truck one operator” scenario with operators required to perform a variety of dedicated weekly service runs from Adelaide departing every Friday. New/late model Kenworth and Vawdrey equipment is being sourced for this contract.
Our operators are a critical part of our business and it is expected that candidates will have a minimum of ten (10) years of on-road experience in a multi combination environment. Bulk dangerous goods licensing whilst not essential is preferred as is a 100% commitment to operate within Toll’s fatigue management framework with full observance of all statutory requirements for logbook, speeding and fatigue management policies. Toll NQX will operate this contract under Basic Fatigue Management practices.
Applicants must be well-presented, possess a clean driving record and be willing to undergo full medical assessment prior to commencement. Good interpersonal skills and a focus on customer service are of equal importance. A background in long distance haulage will be well regarded and a rounded mechanical aptitude is expected.
