Are you an experienced logistics professional ready to lead fast-paced, high-volume operations? We are looking for a Transport and Logistics Operations Manager to join our client’s team and drive their commitment to excellence in delivery and supply chain management.

About the Role

As the Transport and Logistics Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and execution of transport operations. Your focus will include compliance with industry regulations, route planning, driver performance, and delivery schedules—all while upholding the highest standards of safety and service.

Our client’s operations vary throughout the year, with the primary workload occurring during the Sugar Crushing Season (typically June to December), during which operations run on a 24/7 schedule.

Due to the seasonal nature of the role, the number of active drivers may fluctuate between 10 and 50+, with equipment usage increasing accordingly. The fleet primarily includes Freightliner, Mercedes-Benz, Western Star, and Kenworth trucks, paired with trailer combinations such as bulk tippers, tankers, cane bin transporters, and high-volume side tippers.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, manage, and optimize transport schedules, rosters, and fleet operations.

Ensure vehicle and driver availability aligns with operational requirements.

Completing management reports as required.

Supervise and coordinate with internal departments and driving teams.

Ensure compliance with transport laws, NHVR regulations, and safety standards.

Oversee driver training, accreditation, and performance management.

Implement and maintain risk management processes and policies.

Develop and monitor cost-effective transport strategies.

Liaise with clients and client representatives to ensure timely delivery and service quality.

Respond to and manage incidents, including investigation and reporting.

Role Requirements

3+ years of proven experience in transport and logistics operations.

Strong leadership and organisational abilities.

Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to changing operational demands.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, logistics software, and tracking systems (preferred).

Sound knowledge of local and international transport regulations, including NHVR compliance and fatigue management.

Minimum HC (Heavy Combination) driver’s license.

Why Join Us?

Take a lead role in optimising logistics strategy, fleet performance, and service delivery.

Be part of a high-volume, fast-paced operation where no two days are the same.

Enjoy a competitive salary package, including a work vehicle and phone.

Join a respected company known for its reliability, safety, and service excellence.

Ready to Take the Next Step in Your Logistics Career?

Join a dynamic and fast-paced transport operation that values professionalism, safety, and operational excellence. Our client takes pride in delivering high-quality service and supporting their team every step of the way.
