**About this position**
Hands-on, service-focused Transport Manager to lead transport operations and a team of 70+ drivers at Knoxfield Distribution Centre. Lead from the front, build relationships, and make a real impact on customers and drivers.
**Key responsibilities**
– Leadership & Team Management: oversee and support 70 drivers and a scheduling team across a 7-day transport operation.
– Service Excellence: collaborate with Customer Service and Warehouse teams to ensure delivery standards, driver support, and timely execution.
– Compliance & Safety: own all aspects of Chain of Responsibility, driver hours, food safety regulations, vehicle servicing, driver audits, and WorkSafe audits.
– Operational Oversight: lead AM/PM supervisors to ensure efficient scheduling, routing, and execution of multi-drop deliveries.
– Problem Solving & Urgency: step in when needed to keep the show on the road.
– Relationship Building: build trust with the driver team and internal departments.
– Continuous Improvement: contribute to smarter routing, reduce incidents, improve fleet longevity, and leverage technology.

– Strong safety and compliance culture across the transport department.

– Minimal service failures and seamless delivery experiences.

**What we’re looking for**
– Proven experience managing large-scale transport operations, multi-drop deliveries, and fleet servicing.
– Knowledge of COR, OH&S, HACCP, and safe cold chain logistics.
– Experience leading teams in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
– Ability to manage competing priorities and make confident decisions.
– Flexible, proactive, and comfortable rolling up sleeves in the yard and in meetings.
– Genuine people leader who listens, communicates, and handles tough conversations.
– Commitment to doing the right thing for team, customers, and business.

**Important details**
– Location: On-site in Knoxfield – local or nearby candidates preferred.
– Hours: Flexibility essential – operations run 4?am-7?pm, occasional 10?am start.
– Shift: Partner with Sunday-Thursday Scheduler and weekend supervisors for 7-day coverage; weekend onsite not required unless urgent.
– Regular communications, performance conversations, and hands-on leadership part of toolkit.
– Cold chain/temperature-controlled delivery experience highly regarded.
