I’ve worked in a variety of industries in New Zealand Australia and Papua New Guinea. These include Marsden point refinery expansion, Ok Tedi mining project in PNG, Tarong power station in Queensland, Gold Coast University Hospital Queensland, various high-rise projects in Brisbane and the Curtis Island LNG project.

I have spare also spent a number of years in the education sector as a teacher and school principal with all the supervision, administration and organisation that vocation entails.

Worked As Hoist Driver/Hoist Coordinator at Brima Contracting Pty Ltd from March 2015 to March 2016
Checked and drove internal lifts on Queen Street project.

Worked As Multi-systems Operator at transpacific cleanaway from January 2014 to May 2015
Checked, maintained and operated a variety of heavy trucks, including skip trucks, hook trucks, truck & dog and vacuum-pumping trucks (liquid systems).

Worked As Hoist Driver/Hoist Coordinator at Southern Star Crane & Hoist Pty Ltd from January 2011 to May 2013
• Checked, maintained and drove all hoists, ensuring that drivers were given adequate breaks throughout day.
• Performed rigging tasks related to installation, maintenance and removal of loading bays.

Hoisted equipment & structures into tunnel system and used portable rigging equipment to install these.
Utilised crawler cranes for concrete placement, sheet-pile installation, etc. at intake site on power project.
Erected structural steel, and platforms in construction of drop-shaft, concrete weir and intake complex.
Assembled crawler cranes for lifts and erected steel at various sites on the Ok Tedi Mining project.
Operated crawler cranes under supervision of licensed crane operators and drove heavy trucks, as required.

Worked As Steel Erector, Clyde Riley at Dodds Pty Ltd from October 1993 to June 1994
• Installed winches to lift loads and performed chain block and other specialized rigging work inside structures

• Took an integral role in lifting components for the boilers; including the tube walls and the boiler itself.

• Lifted steel ductwork to all levels, transferring from crane to manually-operated rigging gear for positioning

• Erected pre-assembled stair units, structural steel, and walkway components throughout complex.
