Worked As Jetmaster Operator at Ausroad Units from July 2009 to March 2015
National Trainer
I was recognised as preferred operator in this role, and over the past seven years I innovated,
analysed, and solved many operating glitches to keep the units operating at peak performance.
My skills in this position include pot-hole repair (over 200 per day), edging using the drag bar, and
pavement laying – up to 24 cubic metres per day. I also undertook most of the mechanical and technical repairs to the vehicles.
Worked As Professional Digital Photographer at Self Employed from May 1998 to December 2010
Commenced daily professional digital photography on Great Keppel Island. I specialised in portraits, corporate (including brochures, magazines, books) and wedding photography. This was a
high pressure environment with most prints needing to be ready for clients the following morning.
Hours ranged from 2 – 14 to complete the processing.
Although I had been photographing extensively for 20 years this was my first venture into
professional digital photography. I now have considerable hands-on experience with Photoshop in a
Macintosh environment.

Worked As Self Employed at Astronomer from May 1993 to March 2003
Initiated “Astronomical Experience” on Great Keppel Island. My proposal to commence a nightly
astronomy viewing program for guests was accepted by Qantas management. The program was a
great success – the first of its kind in the world – and created additional incentive for people to holiday on the island.
I was the sole contact for media in the region of Mackay to Gladstone – providing scientific
data/content including numerous television appearances and live radio interviews.
Authored a booklet on the topic of astronomy – printed in 1996
