About the Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Verge Collection Driver to join our Waste Services team within the Parks, Fleet and Waste Business Unit.
Reporting to the Waste Collection Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in delivering a reliable, cost effective verge collection service for our community. This hands on role involves operating collection vehicles and equipment, ensuring safe and compliant waste handling, and delivering quality customer service to residents.
About you
We’re seeking a safety focused and community minded team member who thrives in an operational environment and takes pride in delivering high quality services.
You will bring strong driving skills, sound judgement, professionalism, and the ability to work independently across multiple collection routes.
Besides demonstrated experience, you’ll need to have:
– HR Class Driver’s Licence
– Front End Loader Ticket
– Competent, safe driving and mechanical aptitude
– Conflict resolution skills
– Strong oral, written and numeracy skills
– Good orientation skills (ability to navigate suburbs and routes)
– Understanding of safe waste handling practices
– Ability to work as part of a team and deliver high quality customer service
Salary and Benefits: Salary range from Level 5 Step 1 – Step 4 ($77,899.37 – $79,171.57) of the City of Cockburn Industrial Agreement 2025, based on qualifications and experience.
To be eligible for this role you must be legally permitted to work in Australia on a full-time permanent basis. All applicants are required to undergo a pre-employment process which includes a fitness for work assessment, alcohol and drug screening, qualification/licence checks and a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
