Requirements to Drive a Taxi for Legion Cabs
– A valid Australian driver’s licence (full licence held for at least 12 months)
– Be at least 20 years old
– A clean driving record (Criminal Background Check)
– ABN number (must be registered for GST)
– Submission of required identification documents
– Passenger Transport Licence Code
Applying for the Passenger Transport Licence Code (T Condition)
Eligibility to become a Taxi Driver in NSW
In metropolitan areas, to qualify as a new taxi driver you must:
– Have held an Australian driver licence for a total of at least 12 months in the previous four years
– Hold an unrestricted NSW driver licence
– Be at least 20 years old
– Be medically fit to drive a passenger transport vehicle
– If required, complete an English language test of conversational English

– Visit your local Service NSW and request to complete an Application to become a Point to Point Transport Passenger Vehicle Driver to obtain a Passenger Transport Licence Code
– Obtain two copies of your driving history from NSW Services
