Forklift Driver/General Freight Yard Hand – Truganina ( K&S Freighters )

K & S Corporation have been providing transport, warehousing and logistics support for almost 70 years. We now have a vacancy available for an experienced Yard person with a forklift license to join our team in Truganina, completing loading, unloading duties along with general yard duties within a general freight terminal.

This position will suit a person who has a passion for the transport industry and enjoys team work and who is looking for work to fill in some time.

Required Skills for the position;

• Proven experience in the Transport & Logistics environment
• Experience in container loading and unloading
• Experience in container fork work in a transport yard ideal
• Ability to work autonomously and take direction from relevant manager on duty
• Experience in vehicle loading and unloading.
• Experience in handling a variety of general freight from steel, timber, aluminium and standard palletised freight.
• General yard duties including housekeeping, load restraint
• Demonstrate experience in safely operating various size forklift equipment.
• Demonstrate excellent workplace safety record.
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge and ability to operate and utilise various equipment to ensure freight is secure, protected and loaded safely.
• Liaise with work colleagues, drivers, customers, subcontractors and management in a positive, courteous and respectful manner.
• Demonstrate good written and communication skills with the ability to complete all required record and documentation in a timely and legible manner.
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge and ability to operate and utilise various equipment to ensure freight is secure, protected and loaded safely.
• Work in all weather conditions and perform physically activities; including but not limited to: lifting, pulling and operating heavy load restraint / equipment.
• Display a high level communication and understanding of customer requirements – internal and external customers.
• Professional and positive approach to meet customer requirements.

Required licences;

• A current LF forklift ticket with relevant on the job experience
