Administration Assistant – Transport ( GKR Transport )

With over 30 years proven experience in the transport industry, GKR Transport is committed to ensuring their customers receive the best transport solutions possible and is looking for an Administration Assistant to join the team in our Queensland branch. GKR Transport are looking for someone that is ambitious to grow/learn and prosper in the Transport and Logistics Industry.



The successful Administration Assistant needs to enjoy working across various aspects of the business and will join a small office team (plus a pool of drivers) based in Carole Park Queensland.  The successful applicant will provide support across Office Administration, Operations, Fleet Control and data entry.

Particularly, this position will be responsible for supporting:-

  • Operations activities – assisting with consignment notes and invoicing.
  • Sales/Marketing & Business Development activities – assisting with strategic transport proposals, tender documents, sales proposals, spreadsheets and website queries (where required)
  • Office Administration – carry out PA duties such as calendar management, making appointments, assisting with follow up for the operations team and other general administration duties across the group as required.
  • Daily customer freight updates.
  • Data Entry into company transport system.
  • HSEQ – assist in keeping HSEQ documentation up to date and reported on.

The successful candidate must love working in a very busy, fast paced environment and must be able to demonstrate the below:-

  • A minimum of 2 years prior background in the transport industry and administration roles.
  • Advanced skills in IT, Word, Excel and Microsoft office
  • Passion and fit to work in a small team within a blue collar environment (although has blue chip customers so needs to be able to communicate widely and professionally at all times)
  • Exceptional internal and external customer service skills.
  • Flexibility in approach and enjoys working across multiple areas in the business.
  • Positive team member who enjoys helping others, is proactive, solution orientated and has a high attention to detail.
  • Can work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
