GTS Freight Management ( National Operations Manager )

GTS Freight Group (GTS), consisting of GTS Freight Management and G1 Logistics, is a privately owned, market leader in linehaul transport and logistics solutions, servicing a range of blue chip companies throughout Australia. The group has a fleet of over 110 B-double prime movers, fleet of over 300 trailers and 22,000 sqm of warehousing. GTS has a strong reputation in the transport industry due to its focus on customer service, safety and compliance.

Due to an internal restructure there has become an exciting opportunity for a National Operations Manager to join the group. The position, based in Mildura, will require you to lead a team of dedicated personnel in providing and co-ordinating transport and logistics solutions to our customers nationally.

Reporting to the General Operations Manager, and working closely with the Managing Director, the position will require the applicant to have:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a senior operations position in the transport Industry
• Background in leading and managing people
• Strong understanding of the transport industries principles, operations and legislative and compliance frameworks
• Highly developed interpersonal skills, commercial acumen and IT literacy
• Ability to contribute to the overall strategy of the group
• Experience managing a large diverse fleet

Responsibilities of this position will include:

• Managing operational staff, some of which are located interstate
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders in a timely professional manner (both external and internal)
• Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements
• Be responsible for the planning and scheduling of drivers and their loads
• Be part of a team leading further developments in the operations systems
• Meet and exceed customer expectations

The position will require a dynamic person willing to think outside of the square.
