About Us
Eric Child & Sons is a small family owned and operated business specialising in land clearing, green waste management and mulching which offers a friendly work environment and down-to-earth culture, and full-time hours (initially casual). We require an enthusiastic person with an excellent work ethic and a positive attitude to be a part of our team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out the essential duties satisfactorily.
– Operate heavy combination trucks in compliance with company safety policies and procedures
– Operate walking floor semi-trailers and low loader trailers as required
– Operate heavy equipment in compliance with company safety policies and procedures
– Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance
– Follow appropriate standard operating procedures for safe vehicle and plant operation and maintenance
– Perform other assigned minor tasks
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
– General Safety Card (Construction Induction) required
Certificates, Licences, Registrations or Other Requirements:
– Heavy Combination Driver Licence – must be competent in driving a manual truck
– Excavator Ticket required
Work Environment
– Primarily field or holding yard-based work
– Requires motor coordination and dexterity for vehicle and machine operation most of the day
– Physical effort required when handling objects and materials
– Exposure to occupational risks such as cuts, burns, chemicals but rarely
– Exposure to environment which involves dirt, odours, noise, and weather extremes
– Must be fit for the role
