Hines Refrigerated Transport is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic or 3rd/4th year apprentice to join our team.
This is a permanent full-time position that offers the opportunity to work with a diverse fleet of European prime movers, Japanese and European rigid vehicles, forklift, and other assets. We also provide an opportunity for the right candidate to upskill from a light vehicle mechanic to a heavy vehicle qualification.
As part of our team, you will work in a close-knit and team-oriented environment. We offer flexible start and finish work hours, with overtime available. You will also be rostered to work one Saturday every fortnight, and be available for after-hour breakdowns locally.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, inspect, recondition, repair, and assemble all company equipment.
- Maintain all company vehicles and assets in accordance with manufacturer\’s guidelines.
- Adhere to all Work, Health & Safety requirements while performing work duties.
- Accurately complete paperwork and job cards.
Requirements:
- Trade qualification in heavy vehicle mechanics.
- Minimum HR license preferred but not limited to.
- Clear and concise communication skills.
- Proven experience and competence in all aspects of heavy vehicle maintenance and repair, including refrigerated trailers, hydraulic tailgate loaders, rigid refrigerated trucks, and minor repairs on European prime movers.
- Effective diagnostic skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Own tools required (specialist tools provided).
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team with an uncompromising approach towards Health & Safety.
