The Role

Linehaul route loading and departing Hervey Bay (Trip Rates)
All trips will commence from and immediately return to Hervey Bay
Varying Semi and D-double trips, according to customer orders
Weekly runs to Melbourne via Sydney and Brisbane with minor changes depending on load and unload requirements
Each interstate trip will require trailers to be split at least once to access yard drop off points
Minimal manual handling – mostly forklift/trolley unloads

Key Duties & responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Ensuring timely deliveries (time slots requirements) to maintain fresh products on arrival
Drive vehicle in order to transport goods to and from specified destinations, ensuring accurate loading and unloading against paperwork, and delivery of product to correct site in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner
Ensuring load is restrained, as per load restraint guidelines
Ensuring paperwork is accurately and legibly completed and promptly returned to office for processing
Inspecting, cleaning and maintaining vehicle supplies and equipment, such as fuel, oil, water, tyres, lights, and brakes in order to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition. Immediately report any defects or concerns
Obeying traffic laws and follow traffic and transportation procedures
Reporting for work at scheduled times in a fit and ready state
Presenting self correctly attired, in a professional and courteous manner at all times, both on road and at customer premises

The successful applicant will:

Hold a current MC licence, with driving experience in a B-Double interstate
Demonstrate a proven safe driving record
Have a Knowledge of driving hours and completing work diary (BFM Preferred)
Understand & comply with all WHS & Chain of Responsibility regulations
Hold a forklift licence
Be able to complete paperwork accurately & take instructions from managers
Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and good numeracy skills
Have a professional approach and “can-do” attitude
Be flexible and reliable
Be a non-smoker, physically fit and able to do manual handling
