Job Summary:

Geelong VIC Full-time, Part-time, Casual $26.78 - $27.72 an hour

Geelong Logistics currently have 2 vacancies:

* One that is 5-6 days/week including regular Saturdays.

* One is 2-3 days/week including regular Saturdays, with flexibility to work 5-6 days/week when required to cover leave etc.

The employment/work commences as “casual” but is regular and involves doing deliveries for Geelong Logistics.
Full-time employment may be offered after a qualifying period.
Work is usually available Monday to Saturday.
Most deliveries are to residential construction sites and occupied homes.
The successful applicant will be required to drive several differently rated vehicles and ideally be able to operate a MR or HR crane truck.
Work usually starts between 6am and 7am.
The day finishes when all the deliveries are completed; usually mid-afternoon; however sometimes after 5-6pm.
Experienced drivers generally average 40-45 hours a week.
Apart from the Crane Trucks, the other vehicles (Trays/Utes) require hand unloading.
The Crane Trucks are about 70% crane off and 30% hand unload.

The basic requirements are:

a) Reliability. (Short notice absenteeism is generally unacceptable, however there is very good flexibility with enough prior notice.)

b) Flexibility to start/finish as the workload demands.

c) Being very fit and able to do frequent manual handling.

d) Great communication/people skills.

e) Safe driving record/skills.

f) Safe load restraint skills.

g) Safe work practices.

h) Able to flawlessly follow instructions and work practices/procedures.

i) Proficient use of a smart phone/Apps and email.

j) Looking to be employed by Geelong Logistics for an extended time frame.

k) An advantage is holding or being prepared to self-fund a Vehicle Loading Crane license.
