Mathwin Transport is a locally owned freight business that services Kojonup, Boyup Brook and surrounding areas.
It has an extremely capable team of five that enable a freight service that brings a minimum of three general freight loads per week from Perth to Kojonup and backloads of mainly wool to the Perth-Fremantle area. It has two depots, one in Kojonup and one in the suburb of Forrestdale.This position can be based anywhere from Perth to Kojonup, however, preference will be given to candidates that give a longer term commitment to basing themselves in the thriving community of Kojonup.
Qualifications & experience
- Current MC and forklift licences
- Minimum of five years MC professional driving experience with R/ranger gearbox
- Current Medical certificate for driving heavy vehicles, or be prepared to obtain one.
- Good oral and written communication with above average interpersonal skills
- A Dangerous Goods License or the commitment to obtain one as soon as possible at the company’s expense.
Tasks & responsibilities
- A typical day will involve driving to and unloading wool at any of the 6-7 wool stores in the Bibra Lake-Fremantle area and then driving to several regular suppliers for freight such as Ag. Chem, cement, metal etc. then going to the Forrestdale depot to load up more goods before heading to Kojonup.
- Care and maintenance of the truck will be the number one priority, and while any mechanical issues will be dealt with by a qualified mechanic, it is expected that both the interior and exterior of the truck will be kept immaculate on a daily basis.
