Rockdale Return and Earn is the largest individual collection point for the NSW Governments Container Deposit Scheme and is also a small family owned operation.
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a collection driver for our collection services.
The role includes driver to our customers address and swapping full wheelie bins with clean empty 'Blue Bins' using our new Isuzu trucks with Tail Lifter fitted. In addition to this we also pick up bags of bottles and cans for customers who do not yet have a 'Blue Bin'.
The driver will be responsible for labelling all bins and bags collected as per the run sheet and the dispatch system within the truck. Each collection run is optimised by our operations manager for the most efficient collection route.
The driver must have the following –
- Must have a minimum NSW LR Drivers License
- Must be a non-smoker as we have a strict smoke free policy
- Physically fit as there is some heavy lifting involved
- Own transport to and from work
- Be able to read and write English
- Ability to use technology such as a iPad (as this is used for our Dispatch)
- Clean and tidy appearance
- Be friendly as the driver is the face of our collection service
- Basic knowledge of Sydney roads and areas
In addition to the above, we would really like to stress the importance of having pride in your work environment. We want our vehicles kept clean and tidy on the outside, but importantly clean on the inside of the cab as you may not be the only one using this vehicle.
We would also like to notify any possible applicant that all of our vehicles have GPS tracking and this truck in particular has a driver camera to monitor non compliance of company policy including mobile phone use and smoking. This is monitored without warning and is a non negotiable term of employment.
The hours of work is 7am start time Monday to Friday, finishing approximately 3pm.
Some Saturday work may become available as we approach and enter the warmer months.
Pay rate will be $23.50 per hour and will gradually increase to $25 per hour over three months.
