About the opportunity You are motivated by getting behind the wheel of one of our iconic blue trucks to deliver for customers. As our unrestricted Medium Rigid Truck Driver, you’ll be the face of our trusted Wingfield based StarTrack business, at the heart of your community and connecting businesses with their customers, and communities with each other day-in, day-out. You’ll be on the road as a staple of your community, and it doesn’t get better than that
Working Monday to Friday, enjoy weekly pay – $33.33/ph + 12% super + OT rates, on site parking, uniform provided, 10 RDOs per year, leave loading on annual leave accruals taken, fun, hardworking, safe working environment with plenty of events and rewards for staff such as employee of the month awards. Our drivers work approximately 10 hrs a day and the overtime penalties apply after 8 hrs (time and a half between 8-10 hrs, double time and a meal allowance after 10 hours in a day). In accordance with the associated EBA, you can expect a pay increase in September and an additional percentage on your super.
You’ll be
– Safely loading your truck with freight for your deliveries with teammates at the facility
– Completing your own daily vehicle safety check
– Driving our trucks to our industrial, residential and commercial customers for deliveries and pick-ups
– Returning to the Wingfield facility to unload pick-ups
About you You’re a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable personality who loves autonomy just as much as interacting with others and being a team player. You’re passionate about making a difference in the community. You’ll also need to
– Hold a relevant unrestricted Medium Rigid vehicle license
– Be fit enough to load and unload freight items of all different shapes, sizes and weights, frequently in and out of a truck up to 30 kg
– Have a high level of energy to support a busy day
– Be safety-focused and understand the importance of chain of responsibility
– Have a customer-centric mindset and effective communication skills
– Meet our safe working load limit of weighing 130 kgs or less
– Be prepared to provide a driving history report, undergo a driving assessment, pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening and nationally coordinated criminal history checks
