Great opportunity for a cattle truck driver – off property + paddock carting in the Pilbara region of Western Australia!
A full-time opportunity now exists for a cattle truck driver to join the team of a family-owned pastoral company with properties spanning the Pilbara coastal region of Western Australia. From Pardoo to Karratha and further East lies our client’s aggregation of cattle stations providing for a prominent herd of Brahman & Brahman cross cattle.
The successful candidate within this position will be an experienced cattle truck driver and would be someone who could confidently conform to the selection criteria for this role.
MC Truck Driver – Essential Selection Criteria:
• To provide a copy of your current multi combination (MC) Licence as part of your application.
• To have worked cattle in a yard work environment before and if not currently knowledgeable of low stress stock handling techniques, be open and willing to learn this.
• To be a careful, respectful and experienced driver that complies with the Western Australian licencing and driving standards and who can demonstrate a clear driving history.
• To maintain the truck in a clean, tidy and presentable manner on behalf of the cattle company.
• To have experience with, and be willing to undertake general maintenance such as tyres, wheel bearings and basic servicing of the truck with major servicing and repairs being done off site by a mechanic.
• To be physically fit and capable of climbing up and down stock crates and attending to maintenance work on the truck.
• To understand that smoking is not permitted inside the cabin of this truck.
• To have a good attitude and to become a valuable member of a larger station crew, all who will be expected to work effectively together to achieve optimal outcomes.
Low stress stock handling is an extremely important and well implemented practice within this cattle company and all employees are expected to adopt a good attitude toward utilising this approach keeping the general overall animal welfare of the herd first and foremost. To be successful, you should demonstrate a good attitude toward work, the beef cattle industry as a whole and the ability to mix with and work effectively alongside team members is absolutely essential.
Accommodation in addition to all meals are supplied. This is a large, working cattle station therefore NO DOGS are permitted to be brought onto the property. Remuneration rates will be ultimately determined by our client upon the candidate being successfully short listed for a position.
