Scott’s Refrigerated Freightways is a major player in the Refrigerated Transport and Cold Storage business. We are currently seeking experienced MC Drivers for Changeover, Linehaul and Local runs based out of our depot in Laverton, Victoria.
RESPONSIBILITIES-
- Drive vehicle combinations to destinations in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
- Hook and unhook trailers from prime movers or lead trailers (B doubles) including maneuvering into place.
- Load and unload trailer either individually or with the assistance of dockworkers, with or without mechanical freight handling equipment.
- Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of freight.
- Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips. Submit pre-trip Inspections and if required Vehicle Defect reports on truck and trailing equipment prior to commencing shift
- Ensure that all load documentation (e.g manifest, delivery notes, consignment notes SPA’s shipping orders or freight bills etc.) required to move with freight is available for inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies freight when delivered.
- Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations including work diary daily sheets, records of fuel purchases, mileage records, temperature checks and other records required by the company.
- Ensure that refrigeration settings are applicable to the load being transported. On long haul journeys fridge temps must be checked and documented.
ACCOUNTABILITIES –
- Safe and legal operation of a motor vehicle.
- Safe and timely transportation of freight from origin to destination.
- Proper loading and unloading of freight to ensure minimal risk of damage to cargo and danger to self and other people.
- Proper handling and accurate completion of all necessary paperwork related to truck operations and freight movements.
EXPERIENCE –
- 2 years MC driving experience.
- Experience with Road Ranger gear boxes.
- Refrigeration experience.
A current copy of your Driving history will be required along with your licence.
A Drug & Alcohol screening along with a Pre-Employment medical will be required for the successful applicant prior to employment.
