We are seeking an experienced skip truck driver to serve our customers in a safe and timely manner. The driver must be able to assist with yard duties as required.
Ezi Skips is a family owned and operated skip bin hire company on the Gold Coast. We service homes, offices, building and construction sites in the Beenleigh, Gold Coast and Tweed Heads districts. Our service is fast, friendly and reliable complete with skip delivery, skip removal and rubbish disposal. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and our excellent customer service.
THIS JOB REQUIRES AT LEAST 6 MONTHS SKIP TRUCK EXPERIENCE. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THIS REQUIRED EXPERIENCE.
Responsibilities
• Safe transportation of empty and full skip bins to and from delivery location and dispose of waste at nominated waste disposal centres
• On-the-spot changeovers of full skip bins with empty bins on job sites
• Manoeuvre trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Secure loads safely
• Collect and verify delivery/pickup instructions
• Meet delivery schedules
• Report road incidents that may impact delivery schedules
• Report defects, accidents or violations immediately
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Issue customers with a hardcopy tax invoice when required
• Retain fuel/toll/waste disposal/maintenance receipts
• Refuel and clean vehicle
Requirements
• Proven work experience as a skip truck driver
• Courteous and professional in manner and appearance
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Be physically fit
• Hands on experience with navigational equipment (GPS, Google Maps, Apple Maps, etc)
• Manage routes and routines to proceed in the most efficient way possible
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle and report any problems or damage
• Ability to complete full work week and overtime as required
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc)
• Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations
• Complete a weekly timesheet with daily work/rest periods, weekly odometer reading and weekly maintenance completed
Qualifications and skills
• High school certificate required
• Valid HR Condition B (Manual Synchromesh Vehicle) Licence or higher
• No serious tickets or accidents in last 5 years

The role is casual involving a 40 hour work week from Monday to Friday. Starting time is between 6am and 7am from the Reedy Creek yard. Applicant must be able to work regular overtime (which may include Saturday mornings).
A probation period will apply for the first 3 months of employment. During this time, we will assess your progress and performance in the position.
The position requires a committed, reliable and punctual person who can work well as a team or independently.
