Pendergast Northwest Freight Services is seeking an experienced Truck Driver HC/MC to join our team in Tamworth & Kempsey, NSW. This is a full-time position that involves operating heavy and medium commercial vehicles to transport freight across the region. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods to our customers.
**What you\’ll be doing**
1. Operate HC/MC class vehicles to transport various types of freight.
2. Conduct comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and roadworthiness.
3. Plan and undertake delivery routes in the most efficient manner while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
4. Liaise with dispatch and customers to provide updates on delivery status and address any issues that may arise.
5. Maintain detailed trip records and documentation as required.
6. Assist with the loading and unloading of freight as needed.
7. Contribute to the continuous improvement of our transportation and logistics operations.
**What we\’re looking for**
1. Hold a valid Heavy Combination (HC) or Multi-Combination (MC) driver’s licence.
2. Minimum 2 years’ experience operating heavy or medium commercial vehicles.
3. Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road safety regulations, and best practices for the transportation of freight.
4. Excellent time management and problem-solving skills to navigate changing conditions and meet delivery deadlines.
5. Physical fitness and the ability to assist with the loading and unloading of goods.
6. A commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with dispatch, customers, and other stakeholders.
