Wickham Freight Lines is an Australian, family owned and operated business and one of the largest, privately owned transport companies in Australia. Established in 1992, we specialise in providing long distance freight solutions for a large range of customers. We provide a reliable service for our customers' time sensitive needs, servicing retail supply chains and other logistics providers. Part of our expertise is refrigerated cartage including produce and meat.
Key Responsibilities include:
– Assisting the Warehouse in unloading and loading trailers as required and general forklift duties
– Loading trailers, making sure loads are evenly and securely placed
– Operating tug vehicles to move trailers around the depot (as required)
– Hooking and unhooking B Doubles and single trailers
The successful candidates will be able to start early (as it is shift work) and be available to work Saturdays.
Skills and experience
The position requires:
– Competency and experience in driving Tugs in a safe manner
– Good communication skills & the ability to work within a team
– Possession of a current Forklift Ticket desirable
– Possession of a current Drivers License (HR, HC, MC Desirable)
– Ability to follow instructions
– Operation of two way communication
– Ability to work in a fast paced environment
