Worked As Operations Manager at 1st Fleet Logistics Canberra from August 2004 to August 2005
From August 2005 till April 2010 I was employed as the Operations Manager for 1st Fleet Logistics. This role involved organising the transport operations for a fleet of fifteen interstate vehicles, and liaising with and overseeing the logistics requirements for approximately 160 client businesses.

In terms of customer service, I was responsible for the establishment and continuation of strong customer relationships, involving a high volume of phone interaction, ensuring that client needs are met as swiftly and accurately as possible.

I was accountable for ensuring viability of the business by organising consistent work for all the vehicles whilst also assisting the express division with interstate line haul requirements, working towards maximum organisational benefit by minimising costs and maximising profit, also ensuring maintenance of the vehicles was kept within regulations under the NHVAS and Truck safe accreditation schemes. I was also responsible for making sure driver needs are met and workplace safety is maximised. I also maintained driver and truck occupational health and safety integrity.

This was a position that involved a high volume of hours each week, with out of hour’s availability of high importance and occurring frequently.
