I’m a 32 Year old Kiwi that is eager to get into a truck job. I’ve been driving cars for 15 years now and have had my truck license for 5 but never got to use it!

I am hardworking and can work autonomously as well as being part of a team. I feel the time is now right to further my career and not do much manual labour..

I am willing to do overtime as needed!

I am keen to work on the dream life of a monday-friday day shift role as I have worked weekends nearly every year in my life but will consider them if need be! I have reliable transport to get me to and from work aswell and wouldnt like to travel 50km each way for work!

My minimum hourly wage would be anything over $22 an hour!

Mechanic- APEX Car Rentals, Wellington
APEX Car Rentals is New Zealand’s largest homegrown car rental company. It is now owned by AVIS group and operates 12 branches across New Zealand and Australia.
Solely responsible for a range of servicing and repair work on small vehicles, sedans, station wagons, MPVs and 4x4s. Oil and coolant change, thermostat, shocks, CVs, brakes, engine replacements, tyre replacements, clutches, panel damage.

• Assess vehicles and carry out maintenance and repair work in accordance with mileage
• Attend breakdowns within the Wellington region to recover/swap vehicles
• Assess damaged vehicles and order new parts for repair as necessary. Liaise with local car wreckers and dealerships for new parts
• Maintain the in-house database and booking system ensuring each vehicle is logged and notes updated in the system
• Developed a network of contacts from local and regional dealerships, car wreckers and other APEX branches. This allows me to work at a fast and efficient pace ensuring vehicles are turned around quickly without delays
• Carry out pre-certificate of inspections
• Day-to-day workshop duties including parts/tools ordering and cleaning
