Worked As 2IC Machine Operator/Truck Driver at Oldfields/Higgins Group New Zealand from March 2012 to January 2014
This role involved providing superior customer service, time management and communication. I was ‘on the tools’ daily and involved in all aspects of civil construction throughout the greater Wellington Region. I operated a large variety of heavy machinery whilst always maintaining a high standard of Health and Safety practices and participate in all Health and Safety meetings. My other duties also included carting metal and chip to and from sites, driving the Bitumen Tanker and 2IC duties.

During my time at Oldfields I was required to dig the base work at the Kapiti Aquatic Centre which included the base work for all the buildings and dig outs for the swimming pools and trenches for pipe work. Oldfields utilised my diverse range of skills. Oldfields (Seaview, Lower Hutt) was bought by Higgins and eventually our base was relocated to Ngauranga. I left Higgins to take the opportunity of a 5 month working holiday in Australia.
