Covering, OH&S, Manual Handling, and basic load restraint.

Worked As HC Truck Driver at Graham spar from November 2019 to December 2019
Drove Adelaide leg for 3 weeks. as a fill in. over Monday, back Tuesday.

Breaking the Cycle was a not for profit organisation that ran pre-employment training programs for long term unemployed youth, based on a wilderness trek.

This job involved two roles, Warehouse manager, and Wilderness Instructor,

WAREHOUSE involved running the warehouse for all the outdoor programs, when I wasn’t out on programs.
I was responsible for
ensuring all the supplies and equipment were kept up to date. Assembling stock for programs,
replenishing supplies, stocktaking, ordering, receiving, and putting away supplies as required.
Manage OH&S in the warehouse.
WILDERNESS involved managing approx 10 wilderness training programs per year, usually 8days/7nights duration.
Tasks involved
Management of the staff team, from 3- 8 staff at different times,
Responsible for up to 26 participants, during programs in isolated bush areas.
While participants (and staff) were involved in a range of activities, including walking, canoeing, cycling & abseiling.

FACILITATION & COMMUNICATION. This job also involved running meetings every night of each program, dealing with issues, broken agreements, and acknowledgements. During the day, at each event change, there were also ‘roadside’ meetings, to direct and control the group’s activities and progress.
The techniques and skills developed to facilitate meetings, around a fire at 6:30 each night, in the bush, came from Neurolinguisitc Programming and Transactional Analysis.
Dealing with long-term unemployed in a stressful situation, (for them) developed my communication skills greatly.
