About the Position
A part-time position for Heavy Vehicle Driver Instructor to train in a range of vehicles from Light Rigid to Heavy/Multi Combination. Based mainly in Wangaratta, the position would ideally suit someone who has worked in a similar environment, is methodical, gets on well with a multitude of different people and has good communication skills.
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that safe, competent drivers are obtaining licenses to drive. This is an admirable occupation as it positively benefits the broader community.
As a Registered Training Organisation and authorised VicRoads Licenced Tester our Heavy Vehicle training pathway results in national competency for all our students.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Instructing and assessing student drivers to competency
• Completing relevant paperwork
• Completing pre-start checks on vehicles and trailers
• Deliver load restraint training

Skills and Experience
• Held a valid Multi-combination truck licence for at least 5 years
• Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE16)
• Road Ranger gearbox experience
• Ability for registration as a VicRoads Instructor/Assessor

Candidates with the following will be well regarded:
• Certificate IV Transport & Logistics (Heavy Vehicle Driving Instruction TLI41316 or equivalent) or be willing to obtain
• Vocational experience in the Transport Industry as a Heavy Vehicle Driver
• Mechanical knowledge
• VicRoads Heavy vehicle Instructor/assessor accreditation
• Must have a current or be able to obtain a Working with Children and Police Check
• Must be able to work flexible hours including Saturdays

The Heavy Vehicle Driving Instructor will be responsible for the delivery of practical heavy vehicle driving instruction, and for the conduct of licence testing on behalf of VicRoads. Potentially train and assess in civil construction field for the following:
Earthmoving-Skid Steer, Excavator, Backhoe, Front end loader, Roller Elevated Work Platform, Forklift.
