Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Field Technician ( Central Diesel & Hydraulics Pty Ltd )

Central Diesel & Hydraulics Pty Ltd, is a family owned heavy diesel maintenance and repairs business. We predominately work on site but also have a large workshop just north of Melbourne. We service and maintain all types of heavy machinery, some of these include but are not limited to, earth-moving Equipment, Scrap Material Handlers, Forklifts, Trucks and Fleet Vehicles. We also handle small and major hydraulic repairs. Due to the continuing growth of the company we currently have a full-time position available for a qualified diesel mechanic.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

• Complete quality mechanical services, repairs and maintenance onsite for customer machinery
• Carry out inspections & machine reports
• Hydraulic cylinder rebuilds & reseals
• Major machine repairs including engine rebuilds
• Obtain job cards for every job, stating the tasks to be completed and time taken
• Communicate with customers and suppliers as required
• Follow OH&S standards
• Travel Melbourne and surrounds to attend machine breakdowns

The ideal candidate:

• Be trade qualified and able to provide evidence of your qualification
• Have post apprenticeship experience of at least 3 years preferred, but will consider people with less who can show they have experience of working unsupervised
• Have exceptional time management skills
• Be self-motivated and able to problem solve
• Be able to make decisions with minimal guidance as well as being an effective communicator
• Be able to work unsupervised and to meet deadlines
• Posses attention to detail
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Preferably have hydraulics experience
• Be punctual and reliable

The role comprises of a 40 hour week, overtime and weekend work will be available and occasionally required through busy periods.

We offer above award wages plus super along with a company vehicle. This role will be offered to right candidate subject to a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screen and criminal history check.
