National Transport Company requires a trade qualified Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic for their Laverton Depot. AM and PM shifts available.
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the team of diesel mechanics are responsible for the professional maintenance and repairs of trucks, trailers and equipment in the general freight, container and tanker fleet.
The successful applicant will be responsible for;
- Repairs, servicing and testing to company vehicles, trailers and equipment as per company service schedule
- Diagnostic and preventative maintenance and initiatives
- Attend to breakdowns (where required)
- Assist workshop manager and fellow team members
To be successful, you will possess the following skills and experience;
- Trade qualified diesel mechanic
- Car licence as a minimum however heavy vehicle licence would be advantageous
- Heavy vehicle experience
- Understanding of NHVAS requirements and Australian Truck Safety Standards
- Experience with CAT, Cummins and Detroit Engines and Eaton manual and automatic transmissions.
- Road side experience
- Meet strict deadlines

- Self motivated
- Medically fit
Company uniformed supplied, permanent, full time afternoon shift position.
