Local Heavy Vehicle operator ( Buccini Transport )

Casual with view to Perm – Local candidates only:

Required experience:

• Drivers licence for class of vehicle to be driven: 2 years
• Sideloader experience or multidrop background are advantages.

Required licence or certification:

• HC/MC ,MSIC with access card(can be applied for after interview).

This opportunity requires someone who is self motivated to be responsible for the safe delivery of shipping containers or general freight to various locations around Brisbane.The successful candidate will have a safe driving record, know how to get around the city of Brisbane, and be very customer service focused at all times.
We work in accordance with the local transport and distribution award but do give bonuses on top of award rates for various performance or equipment related aspects.Role on offer is casual role with view to perm pending performance and availability.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Driving HR/HC/MC truck to various locations generally within 100klm from Brisbane
• Understanding of load restraint, Chain of Responsibility, workplace OH&S * Maintain vehicle cleanliness and company image
• Complete various paperwork and run sheets accurately requires reading, writing and math skills
• Good Customer service * Deliver freight on time, while maintaining legal requirements for fatigue, speed, mass etc * Must report all issues, concerns, or knowledge base limitations you experience

Skills and experience

• Hold valid unrestricted HR/HC/MC Licence for at least the last 2 years * MUST be able to drive manual
• Experienced in delivery driving, Local short haul/multi drop * Current Maritime Security Identification Card (including port vehicle swipe card access)
• Must be physically fit – Local Driving roles can be very active roles, restraining loads, mounting/de-mounting from the drivers seat a couple of times per hour, changing trailers etc.
• Sound geographical knowledge of Brisbane and greater Brisbane areas * Ability to deliver freight on time, while maintaining legal requirements for fatigue, speed, mass etc * Meet insurance requirements for acceptable risk * Container sideloader/swing lift experience is an advantage
